As I was waking this morning I heard “THE PLUMB LINE” and then went into a vision of people walking to their destination in what seemed to be an airport. ALL OF A SUDDEN something major happened as I saw the curious fright on this woman’s face as she ducked down to try and protect herself. Immediately I thought maybe an EARTHQUAKE had taken place. The vision ended and I heard “THE PLUMB LINE IS GOING TO BE TESTED.”
During my time with the Lord, I began searching scripture and the Lord took me to two places.
Amos 7:7
Zechariah 4:10
And I heard the Lord say, “ For I am standing ready to measure your plumb line with mine. That in which man has built without my counsel will fall as rubbish and be cast into the sea of forgetfulness. For those who have not despised the day of small things shall rejoice, and shall see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. For it is I who will range through the whole earth, for it is mine, don’t you see.”
I know a SHAKING IS UPON US and the Lord is testing our faith and dedication to His statutes. Everything that is not established in the foundation of His word will fall. In 1 Corinthians 11:31 Paul says, But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged. We need to return to SELF EVALUATIONS in this hour so that when the Lord measures His plumb line up against ours, it will stand firm on the foundation of Christ. As I am typing this I am reminded of the song, FIRM FOUNDATION that proclaims this…
Christ is my firm foundation
The Rock on which I stand
When everything around me is shaking
I've never been more glad
That I put my faith in Jesus
'Cause He's never let me down
He's faithful through generations
So why would He fail now?
He won't
I've still got joy in chaos
I've got peace that makes no sense
So I won't be going under
I'm not held by my own strength
'Cause I build my life on Jesus
He's never let me down
He's faithful in еvery season
So why would He fail now?
He won’t
However, if your statutes are not measuring up to His then you can’t proclaim that your foundation is firm, because if we are honest, it’s not. This song is a great way to SELF EVALUATE. It says I have JOY in chaos. Do you or do you freak out and worship fear. It says I have PEACE. Do you or do you have anxiety, which is a result of worshiping fear. Are you held, unmoved, and unshaken by His strength? His greatest weakness is stronger than our greatest strength. So before we proclaim the lyrics of this song, lets SELF EVALUATE to determine if we serve a Spirit of Fear or the Faithfulness of God, because you can’t serve two masters. He did not give you a spirit of fear, but that of POWER, LOVE, and a SOUND MIND. Fear steals ALL THREE from you.
As you are taking time with the Lord this week, and if you aren’t, take time with Him. Guys, not 15-20 min in your car or at the dinner table before you eat. Actually set aside AN HOUR A DAY and give Him your time, cause that’s all He really wants is to spend time with you. There are 24 hours in a day, so if you gave 10% that would be 2.4 hours. Just saying.
Ask Him to search your heart just as David did.
Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
If you continue reading in Amos 7 starting with verse 8 the Lord says what happens if the PLUMB LINE doesn’t measure up to His statutes.
Then the Lord said,
“Behold, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel; I will never again pass by them; the high places of Issac shall be made desolate and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste, and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.”
